2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient Matthew Lipman makes his Cedille debut with a program of Fantasies for the viola spanning the 19th through 21st centuries, including the world-premiere of Shostakovich's recently discovered Impromptu for viola and piano, Franz Waxman's Carmen Fantasie (first recording on viola), York Bowen's Phantasy for viola and piano, Garth Knox's Fuga libre, Schumann's Märchenbilder, and Clarice Assad's Metamorfose, commissioned specially for this album. For the Chicago Sinfonietta’s second recording with its award-winning music director, Mei-Ann Chen, America’s most diverse orchestra applies its magic to a one-of-a-kind program featuring new works by Jessie Montgomery, Clarice Assad, Reena Esmail, and Jennifer Higdon, plus legendary Chicago composer Florence Price’s Dances in the Canbrakes. 20th Century Oboe Sonatas

Former Chicago Symphony Orchestra principal oboist Alex Klein performs 20th century oboe sonatas in a stirring program featuring works by Francis Poulenc, Camille Saint-Saëns, Henri Dutilleux, Eugène Bozza, York Bowen, and Petr Eben. (Spring 2019)

Flute and Clarinet Duo Concertos

Featuring composer Joel Puckett’s Concerto Duo, written for Demarre and Anthony McGill and the CYSO in 2012, the album showcases diverse repertoire for flute, clarinet, and orchestra including Franz Danzi’s Sinfonia Concertante, celebrated African-American composer Michael Abels' Winged Creatures (commissioned specially for this project), and Saint-Saëns’ virtuosic Tarantella. (Spring 2019)

Modern Harpsichord Concertos

Acclaimed harpsichordist Jory Vinikour partners with the Chicago Philharmonic for an exciting program of modern harpsichord concertos. Featuring the premiere recording of Ned Rorem’s Concertino de Camera, the album also includes Walter Leigh’s concertino and concertos by Michael Nyman and Viktor Kalabis. (Spring 2019)

Silenced Voices

The debut album of Chicago’s Black Oak Ensemble features a deeply personal program dedicated tomid-20th century Jewish composers, most of whom lost their lives during the holocaust. Featured composers include Hans Krasa, Gideon Klein, Dick Kattenberg, Sandor Kuti, and Geta Frid. (Summer 2019)
